GNSS
GPS is one constellation. GNSS is the umbrella: multiple satellite systems a receiver can use to estimate where it is.
Definition
Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) is the generic name for satellite constellations that provide positioning. GPS is the US system; GLONASS is Russian; Galileo is European; BeiDou is Chinese. Commercial trackers often listen to more than one, which can help in yards and near structures.
Limits
GNSS needs a view of the sky. Indoor parking, dense containers, and metal canopies delay or degrade a fix. Time-to-first-fix after a long sleep is a hardware and install issue, not a marketing feature TruckerPro will promise.
